Summer Job Postings

Prince Edward Child Care Services will be offering a new Summer Day Camp Program for 6-12 year olds taking place in 3 locations:  Picton, Wellington and Ameliasburgh.

3 Summer Day Camp Site Coordinators

The Day Camp Site Coordinator will be responsible for the program planning, curriculum, and overall operation of the Day Camp site.  The Coordinator will play a lead role in program delivery.

The successful candidate must:

-enjoy working with the 6-12 year old age group
-be a graduate of, or have completed the first year of, ECE or Child and Youth Worker Program at a Community College
-have current First Aid and CPR certification
-be able to work independently
-be flexible
-a RLSS National certificate or Bronze Cross certification would be a definite asset

3 Summer Day Camp Program Staff

The Day Camp Program Staff will assist the Site Coordinator with the overall operation of the program site.  The Day Camp Staff will implement the program plans and be directly responsible for supervision of participants.

The successful candidate must:

-enjoy working with the 6-12 year old age group
-must have completed the first year of ECE or Child and Youth Worker Program at a Community Collage
-have current First Aid and CPR certification
-work well in a team
-be able to work independently
-be flexible
-a RLSS National certificate or Bronze Cross certification would be a definite asset

Home Child Care Caregivers

Are you a stay at home Mom and loving it?  Could your family benefit from some additional income?  Prince Edward Child Care Services is looking for new Caregivers for our licensed Home Child Care program.

Our Home Child Care program provides you with all of the flexibility running your own business can bring yet gives you the support of a dedicated Home Child Care Coordinator who will provide you with individualized attention as you develop your own home based business.  Prince Edward Child Care Services will collect fees, provide training and equipment, facilitate licensing and help you fill your child care spaces.


Donna Young, our Home Child Care Coordinator, is a Registered Early Childhood Educator and has completed a Developmental Services Worker (DSW) Diploma.  She has over twenty years experience in her position and can support new caregivers with any issues that arise associated with their Home Child Care business.

Volunteer & Student Community Participants

Do you have Committee Experience?  Prince Edward Child Care Services is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.  We are currently seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering in a leadership role beginning in January 2012.  Contact Tamara at 613-476-8142 or edpeccs@kos.net for more information.

We welcome volunteers who have an interest in helping out with preparation for activities and participating in local community events such as Canada Day, Milford Fair, Hillier Park Days, Maplefest and School Fun Fair events.  Please submit resume and cover letter as above.  A Request for Vulnerable Sector Check must be completed, submitted to the Picton OPP detachment.  We also ask volunteers to read and sign our Behaviour Management and Statement of Confidentiality.

Donations are greatly appreciated, but please call 613-476-8142 or email khpeccs@kos.net to inquire first.  Any of the following items would be beneficial for our programs:

Toys - clean and in good repair and age-appropriate (0-12 years)
Books - age-appropriate (0-12 years)
Craft items - please call us first and let us know what you have available.  Storage is limited.
Money donation - a charitable receipt can be issued.
