Playgroups & Early Learning Activities
 |
| During the most critical period of early brain development between birth and 6 years, parents are their child’s best teacher. |
Ontario Early Years and Family Resource Centres are places for children and adults to play, learn and grow together. Early Childhood Educators, parents and caregivers come together to share information and get answers to questions about programs and services for children from birth to six years.
Ten Reasons to Attend a Playgroup
- Children need to build social relationships with other children.
- Children acquire school readiness skills through play.
- Playgroups are a great place to meet other parents and caregivers.
- Enjoy a cup of coffee and receive moral support in your challenging role as parent.
- Finger paint, water and glitter creates a mess at our place, not yours!
- Borrow some terrific new toys at no cost.
- Talk to Early Learning Facilitators about concerns you may have regarding your child’s development.
- Borrow books and resources on parenting issues.
- Hear guest speakers and consult with professionals from other early years services.
- A great way to enjoy a clean, safe, child-friendly environment where your child is encouraged to explore and learn.
